Payments made online are reflected on your account within one hour. Payments (not made online) processed before 2 pm are reflected on your University student account the following business day. Payments processed after 2 pm are reflected on your University student account in two business days.
The University assesses a 1.5% per month late charge on any past due amount to encourage prompt payment. Late payments or a failure to pay tuition or fees results in an "academic hold" on future registrations, grades, and requests for diplomas and official transcripts. Delinquent accounts are submitted to a collection agency.
Checks not accepted by the bank for any reason are charged the penalty allowed by state law. Currently the return check fee is $17.
Financial Aid
Students admitted to Colorado State University are eligible for federal financial aid, including grants and loans. Non-admitted students are not eligible for federal aid, but may apply for Continuing Education scholarships and alternative student loans.
Additional forms of financial aid can be found at various banks and lending institutions. Citi Bank is the lender of choice due to restrictive processing of Continuing Education courses. In most cases, the amount of your student loan can be directly credited to your account.
Eligibility
Federal financial aid is available to United States citizens and eligible non-citizens. To be eligible for financial aid, you must be admitted to Colorado State University in a degree-seeking program and be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits per semester.
Applying for Federal Financial Aid
To apply, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Once you have been accepted to Colorado State and enrolled in your courses, a Student Financial Services representative will adjust your financial aid award to reflect the cost of your program.
To check the status of your financial aid application, visit RAMweb and click on "Current Financial Aid Awards". You can review where you are in the financial aid process, view your current award notice, accept/decline your loan(s), and complete other processing requirements.
Scholarships
Students admitted to Colorado State may be eligible for university and college scholarships. The CSU Scholarship Application (CSUSA) is the common application for university, college, and Student Financial Services scholarships. The CSUSA is available on RAMweb beginning December 1 and is due March 1 at 11:00 pm (MST). Visit the Student Financial Services website for detailed information regarding the CSUSA.
Scholarships are available from Continuing Education for non-admitted students. Click here for information on Continuing Education Scholarships.
Tuition Assistance Plans
Many employers provide tuition assistance plans (TAP). Students should contact their employer's Benefits or Education office for more information.
You must provide a completed TAP form (from your employer) on company letterhead. TAP forms should include billing information along with a contact name, amount to be billed, student name, and the courses the student is registering for. The amount provided by the employer will be reflected on your billing statement.
Submit TAP forms to the Division of Continuing Education.
Sponsored Billing
Students who are sponsored by a third party can request billing of tuition, course fees, and other related education expenses be forwarded to their sponsors. Students or sponsors may request sponsor billing by providing an official letter or other authorizing document. Military organizations and most employers have official documentation; see your benefits office for more information.
Authorized documentation must be received by the first due date of the semester to avoid late charges being assessed. Sponsor payments must be received by the due date on the sponsor invoice in order for students to remain eligible for subsequent sponsored billings. In any sponsored billing arrangement, you are ultimately responsible for the payment. If your sponsor fails to pay any amount invoiced, the original charges are returned to your student account and late charges are applied if payment is not received by the first due date. A non-refundable $40 Sponsor Billing Charge (per student per semester) is applied to all sponsored billings.

Enrollment Status (Full-Time/Half-Time)
Enrollment Status is determined by the number of credits which the student has completed or is pursuing for the term in question. Courses from which the student has dropped or is auditing are not included. Credit requirements are as follows:
Spring and Fall (undergraduate)
Full-time: 12 or more credits
Half-time: 6-11 credits
Summer (undergraduate)
Full time: 6 or more credits
Half-time: 3-5 credits
FESA students are not required to be enrolled full-time, but must enroll in at least one course each fall and spring semester to remain active. Tuition is not affected by enrollment status; however, there are other departments such as Student Financial Services that are affected by enrollment status.
Account Holds
Account holds can occur for a number of reasons (academic, financial, etc.). You must clear any holds before your registration can be processed. Students are advised to clear account holds as quickly as possible. You must clear the hold with the department it originated from. If you try to register with an account hold, Enrollment Services staff will hold your registration and contact you with more information.
